This week was rest, reflection, and recreation…tons of fun in the Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, next to Quepos. (Now it’s time for a pit stop in D.C. for warm clothes and Part II of sabbatical in Italy.

This week, white-faced capuchin monkeys. Next week, capuchin monks (in Italy).

A sloth was staring at us at our hotel until we got cameras. Then he turned away.

High in the rainforest, we did 10 zip lines, the longest almost a mile.

The zip line experience ended with a “rappel” which was more of a drop, but really fun.

In Costa Rica, it was the beginning of the dry season (summer), so not nearly as much blooming as other times, but still, amazing things.

Fruit of the palm from which we get palm oil, harvested under where we zip-lined.
